MEET THE TEAM

MEGAN: FOUNDING EDITOR / RADIO & PODCAST HOST

SHE/HER | LONDON | @MEGANGRAYE_

I’m Megan, the founder and editor-in-chief here at VOCAL GIRLS. I started the platform back in 2020, intent on changing the narrative around the lack of gender diversity in the music industry. Together with our growing team of committed volunteers, I create content and events for our engaged community. Alongside overseeing all our output and projects, I also host the VOCAL GIRLS podcast, write features and photograph shoots. Aside from my work on the platform, I'm a freelance music journalist, and write for the likes of The Independent.

EDITORIAL

DAISY: DIGITAL EDITOR

SHE/HER | LONDON | @DAIISY_CARTER

I’m Daisy, Digital Editor here at VOCAL GIRLS. Alongside Megan, I coordinate and edit all the written content we publish on-site, as well as writing pieces myself and heading down to as many gigs as I can. Outside of VG, I’m also Digital Editor at DIY Magazine, and have dabbled in the world of events via Artist Liaison work. I’m hugely passionate about facilitating equal opportunities in the industry, with a particular focus on championing emerging artists. I’d say my music taste is pretty broad (doesn’t everyone?), but I do have a particular love for post-punk, new wave, soul, and disco. ‘Chamber Psych’ also tends to be high up on my Spotify Wrapped, so if anyone actually finds out what that means, gimme a shout…

DANI: CONTENT PRODUCER

SHE/THEY | MANCHESTER | @DANIMURDEN

Hi, I’m Dani and I am a Music Business graduate based in Manchester. At VOCAL GIRLS, I manage our general email inbox, and produce any content from shoots to written articles. I currently work as a Content Creator at Reform Radio, an incredible arts organisation that supports young people into employment through the use of radio, podcasting and creativity. When I’m not filming, writing, or presenting a show, you can find me in a smoking area with a pint of Guinness, telling people why their star sign ‘just makes sense’.

AMBER: SOCIALS & IN HOUSE WRITER

SHE/HER | LONDON | @AMBER_LASHLEY

REBECCA: IN HOUSE WRITER & PUBLICITY ASSITANT

SHE/HER | LONDON | @REBECCA.KESTEVEN

Hey! I’m Rebecca, and I’m a writer and Design PR from Brighton. Like all the VOCAL GIRLS I’m obsessed with music and gigs, and feel very passionate about supporting particularly up and coming artists. My favourite genre is probably post-punk but my music taste ranges from anything between pop to electronic, with a particular soft spot for prog rock (as much as I hate to admit it).

CAITLIN: IN HOUSE WRITER

SHE/THEY | LONDON | @CAITLINCHATTERTON

Hi, I’m Caitlin! I’m a writer based in London, super interested in all things music and culture. As well as writing for VG, covering artist interviews as well as live and album reviews, I also contribute to Clash, The Line of Best Fit and DIY. My taste ranges from rock to punk, with a hefty bit of dance pop thrown in, and I try to catch as much live music around the city as I can!

IFE: IN HOUSE WRITER

SHE/HER | MANCHESTER | @IFELAWRENCE_

Hi, I’m Ife, and I write articles for VOCAL GIRLS! I’m a Journalism and Creative Writing graduate from London,  based in Manchester. As you’ve probably gathered, I love writing, going to gigs and discovering new music, and writing for VG allows me to combine these passions! Currently, I work as a Content Officer in the education sector. Outside of VG, I’m an avid reader and enjoy capturing moments on my film camera!

VIDEO

SALLY: TIKTOK LEAD & IN HOUSE WIRTER

SHE/HER | LONDON | @SALLYCLEGG

Hi, I’m Sally, and I write and lead on TikTok content for VOCAL GIRLS.  I’m also the Head of Content at an educational tech company, and have a background in Neuroscience.  Music is, to me, one of the best parts of being alive, and I’m constantly in awe of its ability to heal and connect us.  Through VOCAL GIRLS I am able to fuse my love for music with my interest in writing, and my passion for elevating marginalised voices across society.

MEG: VIDEO CREATOR, IN HOUSE & WEB ADMIN

SHE/THEY | LONDON | @MEG_RHIAN

I’m Meg, a video creator, writer and web admin at Vocal Girls! I am currently Promotions Assistant at Domino Recording Co. When I’m not doing that, I am managing the band Dura Mater. I studied Broadcast Journalism at Nottingham Trent University where I was Head of Music of our Student radio station. The local music scene in Notts opened the gateway to where I am now, championing new grassroots bands.

GRAPHICS

SATVI: GRAPHIC DESIGNER

SHE/HER | LONDON | @SATVIKUMAR

My name is Satvi and I work on Graphics for VOCAL GIRLS. I also photograph & film events we put up and are invited to. Outside of this, I am an Architectural Assistant and mess around with some music myself! I joined VG because of how comfortable I felt at its very first gig. I hope to help spread this feeling to marginalised voices in the industry and beyond. I absolutely REFUSE to pick a favourite genre. Or 2. Or 10.

EVENTS

AMY: EVENTS PRODUCER & STRATEGIST

SHE/HER | LONDON

I’m Amy, Events Producer and Strategist for VOCAL GIRLS. I studied music at The University of Bristol and have worked across the music industry within education, artist management, events and currently the recording industry. I’ve been immersed in music from an early age, sparked by my childhood inspiration Lisa Simpson to play the saxophone. I’m thrilled to be part of the VG team and work to champion female and non-binary voices in music! Most of my free time is spent going to gigs, the theatre and listening to Radio 6.

STRATEGY

RUBY: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIST

SHE/HER | LONDON | @ROOB.HORTON

I’m Ruby, Business Development Strategist for VOCAL GIRLS. Alongside Megan, I work on funding applications and furthering business development through projects, gigs and events. I also work with Amy on the planning and organisation of our events. Outside of VG I work at the 100 Club, running gigs and managing the venue more generally. I’m the fourth generation of my family to work there, so I grew up fully immersed in this world. Keeping nightlife accessible in the current climate is very important to me and I'm looking forward to championing up and coming artists through our work.
