VOCAL GIRLS X THE GREAT ESCAPE: 2023

VOCAL GIRLS are returning to Brighton for The Great Escape festival 2023!

We’re thrilled to announce that VOCAL GIRLS will be back at TGE for 2023, hosting our own stage on Saturday afternoon at Zahara!

Each year, more than five hundred artists head down to Brighton for The Great Escape: the festival with an almost bottomless supply of the best new music. This year, from 10th-13th May, over thirty venues are set to house the sprawling lineup, which boasts sets from rising stars including ARXX, O., and English Teacher. There will also be Spotlight Shows at The Dome performed by Maisie Peters and Arlo Parks (2021’s Mercury Prize winner), as well as the pop-up festival site on the beach itself.

If all of that wasn’t exciting enough, you can head to Zahara on Saturday 12th May to hear some of the bands that VOCAL GIRLS can’t get enough of right now.

You’ll be able to catch the entrancing newcomers Picture Parlour; they’ve taken a recent string of live shows by storm, including a set at The Windmill that earned them a shoutout from the Courtney Love. Also joining us are London’s Teeth Machine, who rounded off 2022 with a tour supporting Sorry, and whose short but sweet catalogue of brooding grunge has succinctly proved their ability to capture an audience. Completing our bill are the groovy Brighton locals ĠENN – who take their name from the Maltese word for ‘frenzy’, channelling that energy into infectious post punk bangers – and the raucous, genre-melting Alien Chicks. The Brixton trio have a reputation for their fun-fuelled live shows, and will be playing out the VOCAL GIRLS stage in style.

Last year, VOCAL GIRLS partnered with TGE to present special podcast episodes with some of the most hotly-tipped names – including Sinead O’Brien and Rachel Chinouriri – as well as hosting our own stage. We can’t wait to be back on the pebbles this year, soaking up the good tunes and bringing you live updates of the whole weekend via our socials.

You can unpick the full lineup here and grab yourself a ticket here.
